Mušelni

A 'fake' seashells - in the past with this dish housewives in Ljubljana pretended but at the same time delighted their guests. Do you know why?

Ingredients

  • 200 g cooked or baked veal
  • 200 g veal sweetbread
  • 80 g onions
  • butter
  • 1 bun or white bread
  • 3 dl milk
  • 1 dl soup stock
  • 180 g sour cream
  • 1 yolk
  • salt
  • grated parmesan

A 'fake' seashells - in the past with this dish housewives in Ljubljana pretended but at the same time delighted their guests. Do you know why?

Soak bread or bun in milk and squeeze well. Blanch and clean the veal sweetbread and cut into small cubes.

Chop the veal and add it to the bread.

Chop the onions, fry them and mix them to the prepared ingredients. Stir the two tablespoons of sour cream, egg yolk and salt into the mixture and mix well. Add a soup stock if necessary to ensure that the mixture is juicy.

Using a spoon place the mixture in the shells, which are previously greased with butter. Top with thin sour cream and sprinkle with grated hard cheese.

Bake in oven at 200 °C until golden yellow. Serve warm in shells.
